PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Anita Kohli

LION PRESIDENT

I have been a member of Coventry Godiva Lions for the past 3 years. Since being recommended for the position of Lion President for 2019-2020, my confidence has grown immensely, and I have had fantastic backing and support from all members of the club for which I am extremely grateful.
One of my achievements prior to becoming President was volunteering to help organize and host a charitable Dinner and Dance. This was to raise funds for Cancer and Diabetes patients, and I’m pleased to say that collectively with the help of the club we managed to raise £4000, of which we donated £2000 to Macmillan Cancer Support and £2000 to Diabetes UK.
My chosen charity this year is Children with Cancer UK. My aims as Lion President are to provide all my efforts to help as many charities as I can, to help organize fantastic events such as the Festival of Culture, and to grow and develop in my role as both President and as an Individual.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we having been raising funds to distribute food to local food banks and charitable organisations such as Midland Langar Seva, Cheylesmore Food Hub and St Laurence Food Hub. You can help us by donating on Facebook, Paypal or JustGiving.

Coventry Godiva Lions is a fantastic club, with 40 wonderful and hard-working members, who I consider to be extended family, and it’s exciting to know our family is still growing. I would just like to add that it is important to remember that all members are volunteers. Lion members are extremely hard working and dedicated people, motivated in making a positive change.

I am grateful for this position as Lion President and will continue to work hard. Thank you to all my family and extended family for your support.

Here’s to a successful campaign in making a positive and lasting impact to the lives of those we are helping.
