Lion President Davinder Gahir

I am honoured to assume the role of Lion President and pick up the baton from our revered past President, Lion Davinder Singh Matharu (also known as Lion John Matharu).I joined our Club in August 2016 and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of a great team serving the community. Over the years our Club has been growing and currently we have 46 members and more are waiting to join. As President this year I have chosen to support Kidney Cancer UK, which supports research into the causes, prevention and treatment of Kidney Cancer, a disease that took my beloved husband’s life. I am also supporting Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. Every child deserves love, care, support and opportunity in life.

We will carry on supporting other worthwhile causes as well. This year we are also installing water bore holes in Kenya and holding an Eye Camp in India as well as continuing our support for local UK charities. In my role as President, I consider myself not just a leader but a fellow volunteer, fueled by a strong desire to make a meaningful difference.
